I particularly agree with this statement. I live in a downstate county in Illinois, where ignorance and lack of education is almost worn like a badge of honor. Parents are still happy to see their kids get good report cards and get on the honor roll, or so it seems (?). However, these same people seem to rebel against those who received more education and are trying to use it for the good of mankind. After a certain point, education is just viewed as a waste of time, and people that are well educated are viewed as "elite libtards". I certainly agree that ignorance itself is incredibly hard to overcome, especially when so many are both willfully and happily ignorant.
